Roger Dean says about this painting:
"I was looking for a place in my mind that was still, a sanctuary in the mountains. It is unique and different in its own way. For me, it has that strange sense, in the look about the temple, of a warrior who has ended his period of being a warrior, hung his warrior personality up on a tree and become a mystic."

R.Emmelius says:
Die Augen eines Kriegers leuchten in die sternenlose Nacht. The eyes on a warrior are shining down the night. Who could imagine, how hard it is to be the one. Wer kann sich vorstellen, der auserwählte zu sein.

Juan Claudio Negro says:

Una tapa con un clima particular, como la imagen de " Drama", que reflejaba una gran tensión. Hay elementos que sugieren determinadas culturas sin llegar a serlo. La imaginería de Dean, viva y presente, siempre tan personal.

Frank Kloppenburg says:
Roger,this is your Asia-Masterpiece.
WONDERFUL

Relayer says:
I was going through a very black period in life recently, and the cover art and music of " Aura " turned it around. Great work Roger, and great work Geoff and John .

brings me to never neverland

Scott Gebel says:
Your work is always incredible.  Your artwork always have an "aura" to them so to speak.  It, in my mind, dictates how the sound is going to be for the album.  There is not one album cover you have done for asia where it hasn't matched the music.  Incredible stuff.

Elma-B.Grosskopf/Germany says:
Phantastic !!!!!! Congratulation to the artist- I like your painting

Luca Giacone says:
I never knew ASIA's works before their latest "Aura"...well, great music and really great cover. This is my best Roger's paint.
KEEP THE FAITH ALIVE!!!!!!!

Diego Lambertucci says:
Simplemente... Revelador....

Joseph Morse says:
When I first saw the artwork for the new Asia album I was impressed and it wetted my appetite for the music. When I finally got the cd I was pleasantly surprised. Everything about the whole package is a return to form, music and artwork alike. On previous albums it took me awhile to get used to John Payne, but the artwork was always nice. Now it sounds as if he's always belonged. The artwork made it all the more better. The Asia pyramid, the eyes and the beutiful scenery more than just complemented it. It integrated with the music to form an artistic cohesive whole. A beutiful expression from both sides of the spectrum.

Brian Bouch says:
Mr. Dean you have once again amazed us! Being an ASIA fan since their first album, you're imagery has set the tone of what to expect on the album. Just like the albums "Asia", "Alpha", and "Aria", "Aura" has that splendid mix of storytelling thru imagination and of a spiritual journey we all search for in life. Once again, well done. :)

patricia c. says:
props to mr.dean from a new admirer of your exotic art! i am very much into the use of architectural design incorporated with chineese and gothic interior design. when i look into your artistic creations it really blows my mind. one does not need 3d to go there it's already there, just look inside the mind of the genious, he will take you to strange exotic places. thank you mr.dean, rock on.

The Sole Survivor says:

A great picture for, in my opinion, the best Asia album yet! Your work is superior!

Marcelo Barbagelata says:
Gracias a tu obra la musica entra por los ojos

Strap says:

Duilio David Scrok says:
Sua arte? Grandiosa e imortal.

tono nieto says:
Did you ever paint something about Tolkinen's works? If I have to imagine the Middle Earth it surely be like your paintings. Your great!

Manu Nazareth says:
The work appears to me, as if it were a dream of an ancient Mongolian emperor. Likewise in a dream, the image fades out at distance...a Work which has a distinct soul!! Real good!!

Nap says:
Surreal... a blend of the old (yes) with the new (the Alpha cover)... throw in the style of Chinese/Japanese architecture and culture and you have a gem... Very fabulous! Love it!

Thomas Teufel (Germany) says:
Ich bin ein großer Fan von Roger Dean seit es Covers von Yes und Asia gibt. Auch dieses Asia Cover gefällt mir gut. Für mich einer der besten Graphik-Designer

Tony Anzic says:
Another reviewer had the perfect adjective to describe this art... timeless. I recall first seeing Asia's '82 debut cover and literally wanting to frame it. Glad to see new work is still just as fresh and imaginative. Keep it coming...

Aluysio Lacerda Monteiro says:
sua arte é leve colocando a natureza com formas realmente diferenciadas , quase abstratas.existe uma conexao com as formas pre-historicas de rochas e fauna.

Marcos Bueno from Brazil says:
Only who haves Golden Brains

LUIS S. OCHOA D.says:
Hi Mr. Dean. Like many others I have seen your work since 70's whith Yes albums and I like it very much. Congratulations!! I have a question: I have seen in your last paintings the rocks motif, why? Why don't you paint cities or beaches or other kind of landscapes? Anyway, this one is great!, more than the music. Again congratulations! from Honduras.

George Donegan says:
Asia, Yes and Molly Hatchet always catch my eye when wondering aimlessly through the music stores. Spectacular, eye catching, timeless!!!!

Michael Horton says:
Ever since you did that presentation at Bishop's Wood, on the 10/7/01, for a group of 6th form students, I was absolutely inspired at the finished paintings you showed us especially this one and the 'Dragon's Garden'. I have never seen such supernatural ideas, this especially, is full of magnificence and the detail and time put into these paintings is incredible. It's totally my taste.

Etan says:
I've waited for a new painting from R.Dean for a long time. This one brought me back to that special place where the mind can stretch as far as it wants to. It reminds me of familiar places and gladdens my heart. It invites me to enter a new world and my heart beats faster. If this is what R.Dean meant by a sanctuary in the mind, then I have found my quiet place

Rodrigo Sandoval says:
SIMPLY A VERY MAGIC WORK, HONEY FOR MY EYES.

John Morales says:
This painting is absolutely stunning. I could look at it for hours. These are colors we rarely see Roger paint in and looking at this I wonder why. Although not a real fan of Asia, I've always loved the artwork that was done for them and this is the best by far. I believe Roger achieved exactly what he intended to according to the snippit above. The end of days combined with the nostalgia of the pyramid in the mist is very powerful. The only thing I have to add is:
ROGER...MAKE AN ANIMATED FILM, PLEASE!!!!!!! This kind of work combined with something along the lines of Olias of Sunhillow would be an absolute masterpiece. Just a thought.

Hafiz.n says:
I am from Indonesia.. this picture is very artistic, very beautiful...

Susi says:
I like this one... cool

Fabian Banga says:
Roger, since i was very young i have loved your work just as i have loved the music of yes. images have the possibility of telling a story, as does music. when i was younger my language was not english but i used to listen to the music of yes anyway and see your paintings on the cover of yes and asia’s albums, in buenos aires. time and people pass, and your images continue intact, as good art continues intact through time. thank you for your work and giving us the possibility to dream.

Kim D. says:
I think Mr. Doubleday was being just plain mean -- the Asia covers are beautiful....

Samantha Bradley says:
well i've just turned 15 and am doing an artist apprecation project on mr dean. i think his work is fab, surreal and gives everyone a chance to dream of how far imagination can take you.

Peter Persson says:
Although I myself prefer Roger Dean painting in blue colors, I must say this one is really great.YES+ROGER DEAN and ASIA+ROGER DEAN...a must!!

Arleen Raymond says:
The essence of Our Past, Our Present and HOPEFULLY Our Future. :0)

The World as it should be. That's what I think when I see Roger's works.

it's been such a long time. i,m waiting this moment. to be honest, i'm a big fans of you. i want to be just like you. you are inspired me in one thing or another. you art work so.... unexplainable. it's hard to tell.

Héctor Ponce says:
Simplemente....GRANDIOSO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful composition! Also an excellent color scheme. I found this cover to be very fitting of the music, and is my favourite Asia cover, and is also one of my favourites of Roger's for any band.

Shy Vortan - Twizted Dr Zeus says:
Absolutely unbelievable... I'm lost for words. Roger Dean you can take your innermost fantasy and replicate it into reality with incredible detail. I'm green with envy.

Scott Brink says:
I have always enjoyed Roger Dean's album covers. The Aura cover is especially moving as its mysterious beauty compliments the music of the CD itself which I find very spiritual, moving, and mysterious as well. Mr. Dean's creativity has a way of opening one's mind to the unknown - the physical of the universe and the spiritual.

Juan Ospina says:
Even the worst rock band would be great with Roger painting its album covers. Wonderful!!

Paul Clark says:
Roger Dean has always been the greatest album cover guy I have ever seen. I hope to get a poster of the Aura cover for my Dean poster collection. If one is printed up.

Malcolm D. Copson says:
Roger, This one is stunning... one day we will build this and many more of your designs... and then the world will truely see. Malcolm

Juan Cereceda says:
Simplemente maravillosa imagen

john singer sargent says:
I've always loved rogers covers ever scence i began listening to yes(i would let the cover art be the "map" of the music), and i think a yes jacket without a dean cover is like the band without one of the main musicians!

William Padon says:
This is a fabulous extension of the Alpha cover, my all-time favorite. Roger Dean remains one of the world's most imaginative artists. I hope Yes, Asia and others will always have Dean's work gracing the covers. It just wouldn't be the same. Thanks Roger.

Yuri Lopes says:
Simply hallucinant!! When I look to the Roger's work, my spirit travel in to the picture, and can stay there for hours, just looking! Is wonderous!

Daniel Blanchet says:
Simply excellent , this is nothing less than a genius work , fantastic imagination . Mr. Dean, keep up the good work .

Judith Breite says:
I really enjoy the pictures of Roger even this new AURA image cover from ASIA. It's the kind of secret, rich details and brilliant colours... Hopefully the next albums of ASIA or YES will have one of Roger's (new) pictures!

Maurice Masson-Doubleday says:
I hate to dis Roger on his own site but I never cared for the Asia covers -- in fact the first time I saw the first Asia album I laughed thinking it was someone trying to rip off Roger!!!! I do like the spires in this picture -- at least there's no dragon!!!!

Nicholas Anderson says:
One of the things that continually amazes me about Roger Dean's work is his grasp of effective light and tone, something which is always clearly defined in his illustrations. Asia Aura is an example of some of his finest work. Also, his work reminds very much of those Chinese style paintings, with volcanic jutting rocks and misty valleys. Great stuff!

Brian Bass says:
Your comments here...once again roger your a master of your game! i love your work!

Yanuly Sanson says:
The colors are perfect! The first time I really payed attention to Asia was due to Roger's covers: evocative and powerful. From afar, this image seems of a giant of sorts, wearing a conic hat and carrying a round thing. The painting captures the album's somewhat ethereal theme with its Chinese inspired scene.

Rafael Salas says:
Colors blended are EXCELLENT!!!!!!

Jennifer says:
There is a kind of mystery in all of Roger Dean's work (which is one of the reasons I love it so much) but this particular piece calls up special things. What is under the mist, who do the towers belong to, what omnipotent presence is staring from the pyramid? I love the trees, and the deep foreground shading. It is as if one could almost climb into the painting and play with the invisible creatures living in the trees. I am a firm believer that art and music belong together. Just like you can imagine along with some good music, you can build a whole story around this mysterious painting.

Miguel Conte says:
Poder apreciar su obra es un premio a mis sentidos. Thanks Roger!!! Mc

Eric W. Sarjeant says:
As always, fabulous work
