BADGER

Joe Van Winkle says:

Great artwork!! (as usual) I fianlly tracked down 2 copies of this album, one a Japan release with a pop up center of a Badger and the other the standard issue. I have been reading some of the criticisms of the music of this album and think that they are all wrong. This was an excellent album and a damn shame that these guys did not record another album together.

RIC BURNETT says:
ROGER DEAN DID AND CONTINUES TO MAKE THE BEST ALBUM COVERS. I BOUGHT THE BADGER ALBUM FOR THE COVER AND LOVED THE MUSIC, ESPECIALLY "THE RIVER". THERE ARE NOT MANY PEOPLE THAT CAN MAKE YOU CHECK OUT AN ALBUM BUT ROGER DEAN CAN. THANKS FOR THE COVERS!

Dennis Davis says:

I came across the Badger album about 20 years ago at a used record shop and had to buy it just for the cover. I think I listened to the album maybe twice and really wasn't that impressed. The artwork however is excellent (as is all Dean's work)and the only reason I still have the album in my collection. Rock on Roger!

Lindsay Paterson says:
Not specifically about this image, but I was always amused by the anecdote that your cat decided to wander over your wet artwork and your last minute airbrushing efforts, all of which appeared on the Yes album cover! What else can I say that hasn't been said before? Many thanks Roger....

Noah Caspravitch says:
I think that the fact that this looks almost real is why I like it. This work is astounding! Stunning!I love it!

Roberto Granulles says:
When I was young, at 15 I bought "Tales". Dean entered in my life. At nineteen,in one of my worst moment, Badger in front of my bed reminded me about the gift of life. Today at 42, is in my PC, in the transparencies I show to my pupils in the university, in a link in my website, a poster ahead of my chair in my consulting-room, and of course in all the Yes Long Plays, CD &Videos, in my bookcase (the first editions of and magnetic Storm). The world of Roger Dean had entered to my life and is a very important. It´s real, beautifull and it´s filled with SOUL. Thanks sincerely. An argentinian old fan. Dr. Roberto Granulles.

Wellington Ramos says:
Roger, tenho muito prazer em contemplar suas belissimas obras, principalmente por que as conheço desde criança nas capas do YES. Espero que um dia você venha expor seus trabalhos no Brasil.Obrigado Roger, Thanks Roger, greetings from Santos/SP-Brazil!

Styx says:
My wife and I are redoing our bedroom in blacks, grays, and whites, and she has never seen Badger. We need a wonderful filler for one wall, and Badger would be perfect there. Some art is timeless... Roger Dean is engraved in the heart of the planet...

RODRIGO GONZALEZ says:
GRANDIOSAS OBRAS DE ARTE, ME COMPLACE EL APRECIARLAS EN SU WEB, Y SOBRE TODO QUE SEAN COVERS DE ALBUMES DE GRUPOS DE ROCK PROGRESIVO . GRACIAS ROGER.

Bill Buckner says:
I used to have this album back around 1977. I bought it only because of the art (I really didnt care much for the music or the band). I was in my mid teens and loved the music of Yes and Mr. Dean's creativeness even more. I hope in the near future you will include on your website the art from the "Relayer" album (pretty please?), my personal favorite of all R.D.'s album covers.

Cristian Cárdenas says:
Exelentes obras. Todas expresan parte de mis sueños.....

Richard fernandez quispe says:
Thank you roger Dean for beautiful paintings

MIKE MCPADDEN says:
I've been collecting your artwork for over 30 years.Mostly album covers, some posters, and of course your books. I like the way the badger jumps out at you, black on white. Any plans to do the flying elephants in any new format? The Osibisa covers are my favorite.

John Douglas says:
This image is by far my favourite Roger Dean offering. I was struck by the amazing simplicity of the colours along with the obvious beauty of the two Badgers. In the good old days of Album Sleeves LP's would sell because of a RD cover. If memory serves me right I believe I bought my first Yes album in 73 because of the Sleeve

Tommy Campbell says:
Of all the Roger Dean paintings, this is my favorite. I feel a sense of wisdom and peace eminating from the badger's facial features; very comforting to me.

Dave Abel says:
I had been hunting the Badger LP down for some years, partly due to the great cover. I had only seen the lettering briefly on the Yes Years documentary and was intrigued. Eventually I found a mint copy for £14 and was amazed at the cover. I think its one of his best. Quite minimalistic for Roger, lots of snow and atmosphere given over of coldness. And of course, the piece de resistance' a pop-up badger in the gatefold sleeve. Its a cliche' but they just don't make LP's like this no more. It's time the music industry banned CDs and made more LP's with pop-up common english wild animals in them!!!!

Bill Luhtala says:
I'm currently working on some ice/snow scenes so this one catches my attention! I've been a fan of RD since the early 70's...I really like the way the badgers' facial markings are repeated in the tree branches. I also like the emotional/visual isolation created by the snow bank on the left. A beautiful use of lighting and scale/orientation as well to convey the scene.

Maurice Doubleday says:
I really love it when Roger draws animals. The moose in YESSONGS being my favorite. I have never seen this cover before but I really like it. The snow reminds me of YESSHOWS -- very comforting.

Frederic LEVREY says:
